How to file a complaint about your healthcare provider:
Step 1: Discuss your complaint with the healthcare provider first (if possible).
I am committed to provide a space where you feel comfortable to bring up any issues about therapy that we can discuss and repair together. If you are not satisfied with my care, please try to discuss with me first. I will be happy to talk about this with you and work towards a solution. If we can’t come up with a solution you can make a complaint through the organisation listed below, that can assist you with your complaint for free. Because many complaints concern communication and treatment, many are resolved here. If this doesn't lead to a satisfactory solution, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Contact your healthcare providers professional organisation
I am registered with the Nederlanse Federatie Gezondheidszorg (https://de-nfg.nl/) and CAMCoop https://camcoop.nl/contactpersonen
You may email CAM Coop to register a complaint here:
contactpersoncomplainttreatment@de-nfg.nl
The complaints officer will help you clarify your complaint, check with you whether it is admissible, and refer you to an independent complaints officer if necessary (Step 3).
Step 3: using an independent complaints officer
If you like to use an independent complaints officer the complaints officer will securely forward your details to an independent complaints officer. They will then contact you. The goal of this step is to find a possible compromise, in accordance with an approved complaints procedure. This usually leads to a mutually acceptable solution. If this is not possible, you can submit the complaint to the independent Disputes Committee.
Step 4: Independent disputes committee
If the complaints procedure (which must always be done first) has not yielded a satisfactory solution, you can submit a Dispute to the independent Disputes Committee for Complementary Treatment Forms - to which the healthcare provider is (mandatory) affiliated. Please note: this will cost you €52.50. You will only receive this amount back if you are found to be in your right. The Disputes Committee will investigate, allow for a settlement and, where desired, issue a binding decision. Any subsequent legal action will result in the Disputes Committee's work being assessed.
